![]() Ninja are no strangers to the big screen as they have appeared in movies as early as 1967 (in the James Bond film, "You Only Live Twice"). The t.v. mini-series Shogun also featured the ninja as well. Back in the day, the eighties, ninja movies were at their all-time peak. Ninja were everywhere and movies like "Enter the Ninja", "Revenge of the Ninja", and "American Ninja" quickly became cult films in the martial arts community. Although these films portrayed the ninja as some sort of invincible super-being, they still had their own special quality. Sometimes the movies were terrible, so bad infact that you had to laugh. But sometimes that was what made them so good. The crazier the ninja stunts were, the more you wanted to see what else the ninja could do. For example, "Ninja III - The Domination" has the ninja at the beginning take hundreds of bullets and still live long enough to pass on his ninja soul. One staple of the Ninja movie industry was Sho Kosugi. He appeared in almost all of the eighties ninja movies. He was "The Ninja". Click on a movie below for more information. |
